Start editing my images and clips to form my music video.

Camera Shots

There are many shots and camera angels I aim to use in the following tasks I will adjure. Throughout the chosen brief  will apply a range of complex and not so complex camera shots that will apply to my music promo, using a varied range of tested images to apply to the advertisement and digi pack.

Some shots I will use are;

·      Mid shot, reverse=reflection

·      Key indoor, matching action shot.

·      Static shot of sink-water going down.

·      Tear falling down, using a dropper.

·      Close up of phone, incoming call/text.

·      Tracking shot.

·      Mid shot.

·      Full body.

·      Close up of the feet.

·      Long shots.

·      Christmas shots.

·      Time lapse.

Goal For Today

My goal for today is to look at inspirational videos that will help me plan my video. Also I will start to plan the full scale of my music video. 

Location

Costume/clothing

The clothing and costumes that I will use in my video are very casual. I don’t want the models to look like they have been staged, the genre of music I am doing is quite –sad- it isn’t an upbeat song so therefore I feel that the clothing on the people in the videos needs to be quite low key. For example the makeup on the girl can’t be made bold and perfect I want her to look upset so I think that making the makeup quite minimalistic will work better. I want the clothing to be chosen by the actors-models I don’t want to stage their choice of clothes I want them to decide so it looks as realistic as possible. I feel this is all I can really say as far as the makeup and costumes are concerned as a I don’t really want to stage what they work, I feel this is better this way.

If I were a boy-Beyoncé

I really liked this video of Beyoncé’s, I felt It inspired me a lot as it dint just show the video of the breakup from either the girls or the boys point of view it showed it from both sides. I like how it showed them both swapping roles for a day, which I found really interesting, and a countless way of portraying a breakup. Some music videos I have came across have shown how the breakup would liked to have gone, all rosy and flowers etc. which is clearly not the case, this is another reason why I really like this video.

Skinny Love-Birdy

I like how simple but moving this video is. The setting and location is in a scruffy old room opposed to the usual music set, which is expensive and visibly practiced. This is more real, one girl on the piano singing about her feeling = it doesn’t look set up which I want my video to look like, it looks ‘normal’ and doesn’t look staged.

Higher Love-James Vincent McMorrow

I love this one too how its just one man outside on his own, it doesn’t lo staged or a fake set up. I want my video to be like this in the sense that it looks its real like he is singing about his life and his own feelings, his real feelings, his experience.

fONT-album cover

This is my chosen font that I will use throughout, on the album cover, the magazine advertisment and the music video.

fONTS

These are the fonts that i narrowed down in order to chose which font I wanted to use in my work, i.e on the album cover and advertisment. I got these fonts of a website that I have used quite a few times called 'Da Font' which I then downloaded and narrowed the chosen fonts down too 2. The fonts I chose to emboss together to use were font one and font two. I felt that these were the best fonts and suited the theme of the album type and genre/artist that I was focusing on. The fonts I have chosen are rounded and have a soft appearence, I wanted the fonts that I have chosen to reflect the genre of music i am doing. These fonts arent too harsh and too overpowering as to pose to others that I looked at.

Magazine advertisment for an Album.

This an example of a Magazine advertisement of an Album from adele. I feel that a colourful image would take away the vulnerableness of the album as it features songs such as love songs and breaking up. A black and white image gives Adele some sense of vulnerability and shows her soul off much better. I am definetly going to use a black and white image on the album cover and advertisment. The advertisment is very similar to the album cover but i feel this is really effective and works really well.

AS Media Magazine...

This is the Magazine I created for AS media, cover, contents page and double page spread.

This is the magazine that I created when I was in AS media; I got the choice to do either a video or a magazine. As you can see I decided on creating a magazine which was a music magazine that I later called PULSE I had a few drafts of the magazine, changing colours, font style and size and the main image but I finally came to the conclusion that this is the best one I created and this ended up being my final piece. I decided on the colour turquoise after a debate of using other colours such as re4d. I felt like I made the best decision in this situation. I really enjoyed making this magazine but feel now I know a lot more about the software (Photoshop) and my abilit6y has definitely changed so I could do a lot better this time around.

I will use photoshop alot in this medi project as I will complete all my work such as the digi pac and the magazine cover.

I will use iMovie when completely and making my music promo video.

I will use an SLR camera that is able to shoot well to take the images and video for my work.
